The New Languages group meets under the auspices of the Music Ensemble workshop Foundation Training Courses. The goal is to offer jazz, rock and computer music programmes with a particular focus on expressive and creative styles for young people.
Training in the following genres is currently available:
- Jazz: piano, guitar, bass, drums, soloists (voice, wind instruments, guitar). Repertoire: standard, new jazz, Brazilian;
- Rock and new technology: electric guitar, bass, drums, keyboard plus vocalists and soloists. Repertoire aimed at experimenting with style fusions (ethnic, electronic, jazz, progressive) and languages;
- Ragtime: Big band made up mainly of wind orchestra. Repertoire: from ragtime to classical jazz, 1885-1930.
